Buhera Baskets and bowls

Size:
Colour: Dyed or natural

The vine from which these baskets are made grows prolifically in the Buhera district of Zimbabwe.  The income generated by the sales of baskets is a vital source of money with which women in the area may buy commodities for their families, and earn a bit of independence for themselves too.

We buy the baskets in their natural state and dye them vibrant colours. Hang them on a wall to make a decorative statement, put rolled up hand towels in a coloured basket in your guest bathroom, or line a bright basket with a white napkin and present your bread rolls for a dinner party or lunch, place your seashells from a holiday in a natural coloured basket to evoke good memories of the beach... the possibilities are endless.

Prices are determined by size - if you would like more details please fill in the enquiry form below.
