This is a small Harare-based company owned and
run by Emma French and her team.
We are committed to the development of Zimbabwean
craft products to ensure their viability in a design conscious world, thereby
benefiting the rural producers who desperately need support while still
bringing a product of high quality into the international arena.
We encourage sustainable use of resources: Our wooden products are crafted from found dead wood. We recycle old tins and plastic bottles to make lights and ornaments. Old magazines are transformed into table runners and placemats. Telephone and copper wire baskets are made from imported wire - not stolen telephone lines - or the wire is extraced from old computer cables. The Buhera baskets are made from a vine which grows prolifically in the area.
As for the fabric line, this is a personal passion of Emma’s.
Inspired by the beauty of the Zimbabwean landscape and people and influenced by contemporary design, Emma enjoys playing with her colours and fabrics to produce this rare thing—something different!
Each hand-painted item is unique. You can be sure a lot of time is spent on each individual piece of work.
Emma designs all the pieces and works on most of them personally. It is a small but dedicated team who produce these fine textiles.
Exciting combinations of colour make the fabrics vibrant and interesting. Browse the colour swatches to see some of the available options, but as the paints are hand-mixed, virtually anything is possible.
All the products are available in all colourways, though we are not able to show a picture of every design and product in every colour combination.
The products include duvet covers, pillow cases, scatter cushions, placemats, tabelcloths, napkins, table runners and curtaining.
We welcome trade partners who would like to stock our products - please enquire about our trade prices.
